  • is a 6-week transition program designed to help incoming international students gain life skills and transition smoothly to UWindsor. Throughout the program, students will learn more about how to be a better student and receive information about available resources for increased success. Additionally, the program includes a peer mentorship component, pairing current students with incoming first-year students to offer guidance and support in their early weeks as UWindsor Lancers.
  • A mentoring program for new students runs each semester. 
  • is an arrival transition program designed to help new students get acquainted with UWindsor. It includes an informative presentation led by a current UWindsor student and a guided campus tour to help them adjust to their new environment.

  • The Peer Support Centre is a drop-in centre where you can find a supportive peer to talk to. 
  • Safe and inclusive space where trained peer support volunteers offer peer counselling to all University of Windsor students.

The Student Success and Leadership Centre offers free pre-recorded tutorials through the Skills to Enhance Personal Success (STEPS) program that are geared toward helping to develop study skills to achieve academic success in a university setting.

STEPS online tutorials are free of charge and no registration is required to view them.

  • The Outstanding Scholars Program provides Outstanding Scholars candidates with a mentoring and leadership curriculum during their first year. Outstanding Scholars candidates are invited to apply for the Outstanding Scholarship program at the end of their first year. 
  • Outstanding Scholars are paid to do research outside class, working for faculty members. This unique opportunity lasts for 3 years, during your second, third and fourth years of undergraduate study.

Bridge to University for Individuals with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivitiy Disorder (ADHD)

The BUILD Program is a transition program for high school students entering their first year at university who have documented learning disabilities and/or ADHD.

During this program, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the variety of services and supports available through Student Accessibility Services
  • Discover valuable techniques, strategies and technology to help maximize their learning potential
  • Meet and socialize with fellow students, colleagues and university staff and faculty
  • Orientation to campus life while exploring the unique opportunities and challenges faced by students with disabilities.
  • Participate in additional learning skills workshops at strategic points throughout the semester BUILD's objective is to provide critical information allowing students with disabilities to be successful in their university careers.
