Our Community, Economic, and Social Development (CESD) program offers a unique curriculum that draws on diverse fields and practical experiences to foster a holistic understanding of community vitality and strength. With a special focus on northern, rural, remote and Indigenous populations, the program equips students with the knowledge and skills to advocate for positive change, economic and social justice and human rights.

In their third and fourth years, students complete 2 field placements with community organizations or governments, allowing them to apply their learning in real-world settings. Graduates are eligible for designations through the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers (CANDO) and other professional organizations, preparing them for impactful careers as economic development officers, policy analysts, community service managers and social entrepreneurs.
